N° 01 General
The basics.
What is bin cleaning, really?
We clean your bin inside and out with high-pressure water and eco-friendly disinfectant. The whole process takes a few minutes per bin and is done at your home — you don't need to be there.
How often should you clean your bin?
We recommend at least four times a year — ideally once each season. That keeps the bin fresh year-round, especially in the warmer months when smell and bacteria build up fastest.
Are you insured?
We are fully insured against any accidental damage.
How do you work environmentally?
Biodegradable disinfectant approved by the Swedish Society for Nature Conservation. Recycled water where possible. Wastewater collected in a sealed tank and emptied at an approved facility. Target: CO₂-neutral transport by 2028.
N° 02 Booking & timing
When and how.
How far in advance do I need to book?
At least 24 hours. We only accept a limited number of bookings to ensure quality — so the earlier the better, particularly during the busy spring season (April to June).
Do I need to be home?
No. Just roll the bin to the kerb the night before or in the morning — we clean it and put it back. You don't even need to be in the same town.
How will I know my booking went through?
You get a confirmation by email straight away. We also send an email reminder the day before so you remember to put the bin out.
Can I book for someone else?
Absolutely — a parent, sibling, neighbour. Fill in their address in the booking and give us your contact info so we have someone to reach.
N° 03 The service
What we do — in detail.
What detergent do you use?
A biodegradable disinfectant approved by the Swedish Society for Nature Conservation. Safe for children, pets and nature.
What happens to the dirty water?
We collect all wastewater in a sealed tank on the service van and empty it according to municipal rules at an approved facility. Nothing ends up on your driveway or in the street.
Does the bin need to be empty?
Yes, we only clean empty bins. Book for the day after your regular collection and it works perfectly.
How long does it take to clean a bin?
About 5–15 minutes depending on size and how dirty it is. You don't need to be home, but many people stay and watch because it's, they say, "almost therapeutic".
Are there travel fees within the municipality?
No. Inside our service area, all travel is included. No hidden fees.
N° 04 Cancellation
If something changes.
Can I cancel or reschedule?
Yes — up to 24 hours before the booked time you can cancel or move your booking free of charge. Just email us at info@vbkarltvatt.se.
What if I forgot to put the bin out?
If we arrive and the bin isn't out, we'll try to reach you by email. If we don't hear back, we charge a call-out fee of 200 kr.
